Birthday Buddies is a grassroots community project that brings joy to seniors living in assisted living facilities. We create “Birthday in a Bag” packages filled with cards, small gifts, and celebration items to make each resident feel remembered and celebrated on their special day.

Seniors living in assisted living facilities who may not otherwise receive birthday recognition. Our goal is to bring cheer, connection, and celebration to their special day. At this time, we only service Robertson & Sumner counties in Tennessee.

At this stage, Birthday Buddies is focused on serving seniors in assisted living and senior care facilities, so we do not deliver to individual homes. Our mission is to reach those who may not otherwise have someone to celebrate with them.

At this time, Birthday Buddies partners directly with senior living and assisted living facilities. This ensures that every resident has an equal chance to celebrate, not just individuals who happen to hear about the program. If you’d like the facility to participate, the best step is to connect us with their activities or life enrichment director. At this time, we only service Robertson & Sumner counties in Tennessee.

We’d love to connect! Birthday Buddies partners with facilities by providing ready-to-go birthday bags and cards. All we ask is that a staff contact distributes them to residents celebrating their birthdays. Please reach out to us at info@birthdaybuddiesclub.com to start the conversation. Yes! Donations help us purchase supplies and gifts. Please Note: Birthday Buddies is a grassroots community project and not a nonprofit; donations are not tax-deductible. 

You can donate cash via the "Donate Now" button on the home page or Venmo @BirthdayBuddiesClub

Yes! We accept new and unused items only. Favorite items include: 

• cozy socks with grips
• puzzle books
• magazines
• lotions
• stationery sets or journals
• blankets/throws
• birthday decorations

We do not accept consumables. We do not accept any combustable items like aerosol cans or any items that could melt.

If you are within Robertson or Sumner county & have made 100 or more cards, email info@birthdaybuddiesclub.com for pickup and a volunteer will pickup your handmade cards!

We’d love your help spreading joy through handwritten birthday cards! Here’s how it works:

1. Request a bundle of cards by clicking "I'm Interested" at the bottom of this page to fill out our volunteer form — we’ll provide at least 100 cards at a time so it makes a meaningful impact.
2. Sign them within one week with a short, warm message and your name (or just your name). Some cards may already include notes from other Birthday Buddies, so you might just be adding your signature.
3. Return the completed cards to us by the deadline so we can include them in upcoming birthday bags.

Hosting a supply drive is a wonderful way to get your community involved! Here’s how it works:

1. Click "I'm Interested" at the bottom of this page to fill out our volunteer form, so we can share a current list of most-needed items.
2. Pick a location (workplace, church, school, community group).
3. Collect small gift items like puzzles, socks, lotion, word search books, or festive birthday goodies.
4. Email us to arrange pick up. 

We’re happy to provide flyers, a digital wishlist, and tips to make your supply drive successful.

At this stage, these events are by invitation through our email list only. This helps us:

• Keep events the right size for the space we’re using
• Make sure we have enough supplies for everyone

Yes! Delivery is an important part of Birthday Buddies — it’s how our gifts and cards actually reach seniors in assisted living.

Here’s what to know:

• Deliveries are scheduled in advance so we coordinate with each facility.
• Volunteers will drive and drop off bags at the front desk or designated staff contact.
• You’ll need your own reliable transportation and the ability to lift and carry bags.
• We’ll provide instructions for each drop-off so the handoff goes smoothly.
